Shenton College

JCY have been engaged by Building Management & Works as the Lead Consultant for the design documentation and contract administration of the proposed Shenton College – Stage Two project, for the W.A. Department of Education. This project aims to provide facilities for 1000 senior school students.

Shenton College will serve to address the demand for secondary education places in the western suburbs. The new buildings will be located on the western side of the campus, nestled between the Shenton Bushland Reserve and the heritage-listed former Lemnos Hospital buildings.

The brief requires a comprehensive suite of new education facilities, duplication of the existing Gymnasium, plus minor refurbishment works, relocated playing courts, external works, parking and site access.

The challenging site conditions require the design to consider and address location within a bushfire prone area; interface with heritage-listed facilities; undulating site topography; multiple services constraints and site access issues.
